After 12 seasons and 279 episodes, "The Big Bang Theory" wrapped filming its final episode on April 30.

The CBS comedy went out on a high note, with Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy's (Mayim Bialik) romantic wedding. Photos from behind the scenes show the cast and crew coming together one last time to bid farewell to the show that brought them together.

Parsons and Bialik were in their wedding attire, with Amy in a lace dress and Sheldon ditching his signature t-shirts for a tuxedo. The ceremony appears to take place in Sheldon and Leonard's apartment, which has been decorated for the special occasion.

“It's really hitting me the enormity of what we're doing here,” showrunner Steve Holland told TVLine. “It's the end of an era.” 

According to series co-creator Chuck Lorre, Sheldon and Amy's wedding seemed like the perfect way to end the show. "A wedding seemed like an obvious thing, but at the same time scary because the expectations are so high,” Lorre said. “But it’s been 12 years.

If anyone knows Sheldon and Amy, like how they would handle a wedding, it’s us.”

After so many years together, saying goodbye was bittersweet for the cast and crew. “There were a lot of tears,” said Kaley Cuoco, who played Penny.

“There were so many moments I had to walk away and take a second.” Johnny Galecki, who starred opposite Cuoco as Leonard Hofstadter, echoed similar sentiments.

“I don’t know if I’ve processed it yet. It’s been a long time, and this has been a big part of my life, and all of our lives,” Galecki said.

Though "The Big Bang Theory" is coming to an end, its impact will live on. The show has built a loyal fanbase and garnered 52 Emmy nominations during its run.

For the cast, the years they spent together on set has resulted in close friendships that will last long after the cameras stop rolling and the final episode airs.

While fans will have to wait until the finale airs to see Sheldon and Amy's wedding for themselves, photos from behind the scenes serve as a touching glimpse at the show's final hours.

After 12 memorable years of laughs, love, and life lessons, the scientists of Pasadena are embarking on their biggest adventure yet: happily ever after. The only question that remains is: Bazinga!
