has revealed that she wants to release her next album in 2023 after a seven year hiatus.

The singer, 35, - who revealed on Sunday that she is pregnant with her second child with beau - said it would be 'ridiculous' if it didn't come out this year.

ANTI her last album came out in 2016 and was hugely successful - something Rihanna has now told means there is 'pressure' for her next songs to be better.

She said: 'I want it to be this year. Like, honestly, it'd be ridiculous if it's not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.' 

She added: 'But there's this pressure that I put on myself. That if it's not better than that then it is not even worth it.

'So I realised that if I keep waiting until this feels right and perfect and better, maybe it's going to keep taking forever and maybe it'll never come out and no, I'm not down to that. 

'So I want to play. And by play, I mean I have my ideas in my head, but I can't say them out loud yet.'

The star shocked fans by revealing her second pregnancy as she showed off her growing baby bump during her much-anticipated  halftime show on Sunday.

Rihanna, who gave birth to her first child just nine months ago, sent  as she took to the stage and rubbed her tummy in front of a global audience of millions.

It is thought that around 200million people watched the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in .

She shares her first child, who was born on May 13, 2022, with Rocky and the two have kept their growing family under the radar.

A representative for star confirmed the baby news shortly after the performance finished.

The Diamonds hitmaker apparently previously turned down opportunities to perform at the Super Bowl on several occasions before finally taking to the stage this year.

 she had turned down the show in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and because she disagreed with the handling of national anthem kneeling.

Speaking to Vogue about why she agreed to perform now, Rihanna said although she thinks there is still a lot of 'mending' that needs to be done, it felt powerful to be able to represent on a high level.

Previous stars to perform during the slot have included Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Justin Timberlake and Coldplay. 

The Super Bowl marked the first time Rihanna performed on live television since 2018, where she joined DJ Khaled on stage to sing Wild Thoughts at the Grammy Awards.
