Julia Roberts loves to make movie after movie, having just starred in Mother's Day with Jennifer Aniston and Money Monster with George Clooney, as she prepares to star with Jacob Tremblay in the drama Wonder.

So it's nice to see the 48-year-old Hollywood icon take some time off to unwind with her husband of 14 years, cinematographer Danny Moder.

On Wednesday the Oscar winner was seen showing off her legs while going for a dip on the beach in Hawaii before she planted a kiss on her better half, 47, with whom she has three children.

The Pelican Brief vet did not opt for a skimpy bikini like so many celebrities do these days.

Rather, Roberts covered her top half in a blue and green floral print short-sleeved T-shirt that had a bit of a mock turtleneck.

Her briefs were another story, however. She had on a teeny pair of white Tory Burch pants that rode up high on her hips. Still, the A list actress, who stands at 5ft9in, was not showing off much skin overall.

The Secret In Their Eyes actress let her blonde highlighted locks blow in the wind before jumping in the ocean. Once in, she went full dunk, wetting her famous mane. She from then on wore her hair slicked back.

Later she was seen in a black bikini top and floral leggings as she sat on the beach.

The star seemed to be in a more serious mood as she was in the company of some friends.

Roberts also had on a large pair of sunglasses and hat by her side as well as a shirt and towel.

Later the Vogue cover model pulled on a light blue dress with side pockets to cover up her body as she walked with Moder, who she often works with on her films. She also had on a cute straw hat.

The two quashed any rumours that there was marital strife by kissing passionately while on the beach. Danny wore a print baseball shirt and long shorts as he held onto his straw hat. He also wore a bushy beard and longer locks. The camera man put his backpack and bottle of water down to smooch his wife.

It clearly was a successful vacation as the Notting Hill darling was seen smiling her famous smile as she frolicked on the strand later in a Mexican print top that was blue and white.

'It definitely helped me that he was there. It was nice at times that we got to go to work together and then come home together,' Roberts explained.

'All that work time, when you come home and go, "Oh, honey, how was your day?" We did all that in the day and in the car. And by the time we got home we were able to just put it away, which was really delightful.'
