Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer all graced our screens from 1994 to 2004 with the popular TV Show - FRIENDS. While many people know what happens in the show, not many people might know the first cars the Friends cast bought when they got their first paychecks. Naturally, the cast wanted to splash out a little bit when they got that paycheck.

In fact, it was the girls that splashed out the most when they got their very first big paycheck. They went for some rather nice cars, such as a  Porsche or Mercedes-Benz, while Matt LeBlanc decided the first thing he would get himself was dinner! He has said in the past he was quite broke and needed the Friends job quite badly. As for David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry, details are scarce about what their first cars were, but they did own some fine automobiles along the way, especially Perry with his exotic cars.

Jennifer Aniston's First Car Was A Classic Mercedes-Benz

A classic interview of the Friends cast with Jay Leno revealed what the girls bought at the time. Jennifer Aniston clearly had a lot of taste and class, as the car she bought was a 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280. The 280 was part of the Mercedes W108 and W109 range, constructed from 1965 to 1972. They are one of the all-time classic Mercedes luxury cars and were hugely successful in North America as well as in West Germany. Various engines are at the heart of the 280, such as the inline-six 2.8-liter M130 engine with 140 hp.

Courteney Cox Adored Her Porsche 911

Naturally, a Porsche would be one of the cars the cast wanted to get their hands on. It fell to Courtney Cox to grab the initiative and buy a Porsche 911. Although it's easy to sympathize with her when it comes to the various generations of the 911, she got herself a Porsche 993 generation of the 911. As this generation of the 911 came out in January 1994, it makes sense this would be the one that Cox went for as the show launched that year. The 993 generation is also seen as one of the best and is the first 911 to have a six-speed transmission.

Cox actually bought the 911 before she had the paycheck. In fact, she got that Porsche before the cast even knew the show had got picked up. She said she was a bit overextended at the time, but she clearly loved the car as it was hers for some seven years. The 911 is one of the best driver's cars in the world, so we highly approve of this choice from Monica.

Lisa Kudrow Bought Herself A Humble Acura Sedan

Phoebe also felt like getting in on the action, so she, too, got herself a new car. Kudrow bought herself an Acura Legend with her first paycheck from Friends. Not as flashy as a Mercedes or Porsche, but a great car nonetheless. It was the first flagship sedan sold under the Acura nameplate, making it quite an important car. Kudrow did well to get her hands on one in 1994 as the Legend went out of production in 1995. The Legend was a car that got quite the name for itself, enabling Acura to compete with the very best American and European luxury manufacturers.

LeBlanc Got Himself Some Hot Food Instead Of A Flashy Car

While the three girls decided to get their hands on some flashy cars, Matt LeBlanc didn't. He claims at the time, he was pretty broke, so the first thing he did was buy himself dinner. There is something quite relatable to that particular line. LeBlanc is, of course, a big car guy. He would go on to host the BBC TV show Top Gear for a few years after James May, Jeremy Clarkson, and Richard Hammond all left. LeBlanc has some rather amazing cars in his collection, such as a Porsche 911 GT2 RS as well as a De Tomaso Pantera.

What Cars Did Schwimmer and Perry Buy With Their First Paychecks From Friends?

David Schwimmer has been very humble with his car collection. While his first car after getting the first paycheck from Friends is unknown, we can assure you that he didn't have bad luck like his on-screen character Dr. Ross. He had a hard time getting a red classic MGB, his 30th birthday present, out of a tight parking spot. In real life, Schwimmer has a humble collection and has been spotted driving around a Ford Mustang GT, a Jaguar XK, and a last-gen Range Rover SUV.

But Matthew Perry was the exact opposite when it comes to car choices. He likes his automobiles fast and sharp. He has owned everything from sports cars to luxury SUVs. Perry's cars across the years include an Audi R8, a BMW 6 Series, a BMW Z8, a Porsche Panamera, and a Lincoln Navigator. As for the first car that Perry bought after his gig at Friends, it remains unknown.
