Hold tight, season 7 is coming, but no one knows when.
If there's one thing about the WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes that has really scared audiences, it's the possibility that some projects will be scrapped altogether, not just delayed until the strikes are resolved. The longer the strikes go on, the more obvious it becomes that neither side is willing to compromise, which is why fans are worried about possible cancellations.
The young Sheldon fandom is no different. And while there hasn't been any credible information about the slightest possibility of CBS canceling its hit sitcom, it's still nice to be reassured in one way or another. Ian Armitage's sweet comment to co-star Wyatt McClure is one of them.
With July 15th marking the young star's 15th birthday, it was only expected that social media would be filled with celebratory posts. One such post was shared by Wyatt McClure, who plays Billy Sparks on the show. The actor posted a picture of himself and Armitage holding a bunch of balloons and smiling adorably at the camera.
However, it's not the post itself that gathered so much attention, but Armitage's reply. Young Sheldon's lead wrote the following under the post:
"Thanks Wyatt! Can't wait to see you again, hopefully soon!"
And fans were sure to take it as a sign that the cast was preparing to reunite on the set of Young Sheldon season 7.
Young Sheldon was renewed by CBS for its 7th season back in March 2021. The show was so successful that the network decided to give it a few years at a time, but there is no information on whether or not they plan to make the season 7 final. With such delays in production, it's more likely than not that this season will be the last we see of Young Sheldon.
