If you are struggling to remember the details, let us refresh your memory. Adult Sheldon has repeatedly said that Billy Sparks, his childhood neighbor in Medford, Texas, bullied him when he was little.

Billy ended up on Sheldon's mortal enemies list for several things: shoving a coin up his nose, putting dog poop on Sheldon's bike, and throwing a chicken at him.

Well, in Young Sheldon, Billy Sparks is far from Sheldon's description. He does seem a bit hostile in season 1, but the character later turns out to be much more amenable and sweet.

So why did Sheldon make up all those lies about Billy? Is it another plot hole in the TBBT universe? Or is there another explanation?

We believe that Young Sheldon provided a perfect fix to this inconsistency. In season 6, more light was shed on the whole George-cheating-on-Mary storyline, though things didn't pan out exactly the way adult Sheldon recalled them.

Turns out, Missy knew about George and Brenda's secret meetings in the chicken coop, and she threw the information in her dad's face when they were fighting. Missy and Sheldon may not be besties, but what if she shared the secret with her brother?

If Sheldon had found out about George's near-cheating with Brenda, Billy's mom, he could've easily blamed it all on the Sparks' family – and painted Billy as the bad guy in all of this.

In the prequel series, Sheldon and Billy seem to be on rather friendly terms (Sheldon even tutored him once). Unless the socially awkward genius is still mad at Billy for a few pranks after all these years, his attitude in The Big Bang Theory makes no sense.

However, Sheldon could've easily made up this lie about Billy being a bully as a way to get back at him and his family for George's affair and his parents' marital problems. Sheldon is that petty, and you know it.

Anyway, we'll have to wait until the fall to find out if season 7 will feature George's affair going any further, or if grown-up Sheldon has been blowing things out of proportion as usual.
