When Inspectah Deck got the inspiration for his all-time classic verse on Wu-Tang Clan's mega-hit 'C.R.E.A.M.' he was in jail aged just 15 - and now, 30 years after its release, he's still amazed by how the track has inspired people to turn their lives around.
The track has even become an anthem of sorts for the ad campaign for Menulog's new value offering, which launches today.
The single from 'Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)' - the album that changed hip-hop forever - sees the 52-year-old rhyme about getting locked up for selling drugs and realising that 'livin' in the world no different to a cell' as he tries to 'kick the truth to the young black youth'.
At the time the track with its 'cash rules everything around me' chorus was thought by some to be glamorising the gangster lifestyle when it was actually more of a warning to those who were caught up in it.

The MC (pictured, left, with fellow Wu-Tang member Method Man in 1994) is still amazed by the effect his words have on fans who have struggled in life
Inspectah Deck - who also goes by Rebel INS - told Daily Mail Australia his 15-year-old self would never have believed how important the song has become not just to hip-hop, but fans who are struggling with their lives.
'People have definitely come up and told me that it's deep - not just here at home but all around the world,' he said.
'They say that verse changed their lives, whether they were in jail or not. People in the street tell me it helped them stay in school.
'I'm just amazed that I was sitting there writing it in a five-by-five room in Staten Island, and now it has reached that many people.
'For me the best route to take was not trying to be a gangster ... all I wanted was for the world to hear what I have to say, that's why I wasn't afraid to say that I was depressed, couldn't get a job, my mom was struggling, my dad wasn't there.
'[Fellow Wu-Tang member] Raekwon gave you the gangster side of it [on 'C.R.E.A.M.'] and by doing that we gave it perfect balance, the two sides of the coin.'
C.R.E.
A.M. was just one of the seminal songs on the album that changed hip-hop forever, 'Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)' (Wu-Tang Clan pictured in 1994)What followed the album's release was nothing short of a phenomenon that saw Wu-Tang - which also included RZA, GZA, Ol' Dirty Bastard, U-God, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa and Method Man - gain worldwide fame and respect as possibly the greatest group in hip-hop history.
And even though they broke out way back in 1992, it's easy to see signs of the high esteeem they're still held in - like the fact music superstars Rihanna and A$AP Rocky named their son RZA when he was born last year.
'Even hearing that was dope and crazy at the same time,' Inpectah Deck recalled.
'That's a huge honour for them to give, a huge level of respect for them to give.

'It's always love and respect from them and it's the same from us going back to them and their baby.
'Maybe someone will name their daughter INS,' he laughed. 'It could be a girl's or a boy's name.'
'C.R.E.A.M.' is getting relaunch of sorts in Australia for its 30th anniversary, with the 'dolla dolla bill' refrain from the chorus being updated to 'dolla dolla deals' as part of Menulog's biggest deal ever.
As part of its new platform, the food delivery giant is offering more than 20,000 deals a day, including a new offer this weekend from Friday, June 30 and Saturday, June 1 - offering free meals at random to customers from $50 all the way up to $250.
