Jamie Foxx apologizes for sharing alleged antisemitic remarks to social media... after Jennifer Aniston denounces hate and denied liking post

The brouhaha began when  55, posted an angry message which read, 'They killed this dude called Jesus... what do you think they'll do to you???!' followed by the hashtags #fakefriends  and #fakelove.

Someone named Jennifer Aniston appeared to 'like' the remarks, which were subsequently labeled antisemitic.

'Actor Jamie Foxx posts horrifically antisemitic message to his 16.7 million followers,' wrote the A Wide Frame account, which spotted the offensive post.

For centuries, Jews have been blamed for the death of Jesus, and the alleged deicide has been used as an excuse for oppression and violence against them.

Jennifer, 54, who was caught up in the controversy, quickly denounced it and denied any connection to it in her Instagram Stories.

'This really makes me sick, 'she wrote.

'I did not "like" this post on purpose or by accident,' The Morning Show star maintained.

There are dozens of fan accounts on social media under the name Jennifer Aniston. 

'And more importantly, I want to be clear to my friends and anyone hurt by this showing up in their feeds — I do NOT support any form of antisemitism. And I truly don't tolerate HATE of any kind. Period.'

On Saturday morning, Jamie, who has been recovering from a hospitalization and health scare, tried to rectify the situation writing his own explanation of his now-deleted post.


'I want to apologize to the Jewish community and to everyone who was offended by my post. I now know my words of choice have caused offense and I'm sorry. That was never my intent.' the Oscar winner claimed.

Controversy:  The controversy began when the Jewish group A Wider Frame labeled Jamie's now-deleted post antisemitic and someone named Jennifer Aniston 'liked' it.

Apology: Jamie, who has been recovering from a health scare, apologized for his choice of words and clarified the meaning of the previous post, explaining he was calling out a 'fake friend' and not the Jewish community 

Vouch: Jamie's friend Adam Weitsman quickly came to his defense writing 'I would vouch for you always.


'To clarify, I was betrayed by a fake friend and that's what I meant with "they" not anything more,' he explained.

'I only have love in my heart for everyone. I love and support the Jewish community. My deepest apologies to anyone who was offended.  Nothing but love always, Jamie Foxx.'

Jamie's pal Adam Weitsman quickly came to his defense writing, 'I know you personally, I’m Jewish and know you are the last person that would EVER act Anti Semetic.'

'Your kind and thoughtful to everyone. I would vouch for you always.'
