Jennifer Aniston had no problem expressing her feelings about Angelina Jolie flaunting her relationship with Brad Pitt, calling it "uncool."
A top Hollywood couple, Aniston and Pitt split in 2005, with many guessing about the reasons. Aniston and Pitt claimed in a statement released to the press that their separation had nothing to do with the numerous rumors surrounding them.
After Pitt and Aniston parted ways, Pitt and Jolie began dating. They initially denied anything had happened between them while filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Pitt was married. But in 2006, Jolie gave a revealing interview with Vogue, seeming to imply that the two had been more than friends during filming. Later, both she and Pitt has confirmed this. Jennifer Aniston responded to Jolie flaunting their relationship, calling it "uncool."
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt announced their official separation in 2005, claiming it had nothing to do with the numerous rumors that swirled their decision. Some believed it was because the Hollywood star and Angelina Jolie fell in love while filming their 2004 adventure comedy.
Jolie and Pitt claimed they were just "good friends" until Pitt and Aniston were officially separated. However, Mr. & Mrs. Smith's title characters were apparently love interests both on and off the screen.
According to People, Jolie opened up to Vogue about how she and Pitt fell in love, filming scenes that brought them closer. "We ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened."
About working with Pitt, Jolie gushed about working with her co-lead. "I think a few months in I realized, God, I can't wait to get to work."
"Whether it was shooting a scene or arguing about a scene or gun practice or dance class" (who can forget their steamy dance, seen in the film?) "or doing stunts - anything we had to do with each other, we just found a lot of joy in it together and a lot of real teamwork. We just became a pair."
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt eventually got married, then divorced, making headlines again with their battles in the courts.
Another rumor that made headlines around the time of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's separation was that Aniston hadn't wanted children, preferring her career over a family. However, Aniston had discussed wanting to have a baby before rumors began of their split, and the star herself has also debunked that claim.
The Break-Up actor hasn't spoken out much about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's relationship. But when the Girl, Interrupted actor broadcast some new facts about falling for her fellow lead while shooting Mr. & Mrs. Smith in a candid interview, Aniston responded.
While the Friends actor was giving a 2008 Vogue interview discussing her life at the time, the interviewer asked about Angelina Jolie. First, "Aniston asked her to turn off the tape recorder for a moment." One can only imagine what she might have said in those off-record moments!
However, Aniston had no problem revealing some of her feelings about the woman who seemed to have stolen Pitt's heart - while he was still married to the Murder Mystery actress.
She was galled by Jolie's decision to "recount a detailed timeline of exactly how her relationship developed on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, while Aniston was still married to and living with Pitt."
"There was stuff printed there that was definitely from a time when I was unaware that it was happening. I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss."
Bothered by certain comments, Aniston added, "That stuff about how she couldn't wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool."
Although Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie claimed to be just friends while they were filming Mr. & Mrs. Smith, they later revealed the truth. They had fallen in love during filming, while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston. Jolie received some backlash after this revelation.
According to Access Online, Jolie caused a stir after saying she fell in love with Brad on the set. Talking with the New York Times about her children eventually watching Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Jolie said, "Not a lot of people get to see a movie where their parents fell in love."
Pitt agreed with what Jolie said, telling Rolling Stone that out of all his films, the 2004 spy film was his favorite "Because I fell in love."
An inside source has contradicted Pitt and Jolie's claims that nothing happened between them during filming. According to US Weekly, Pitt and Jolie's former bodyguard Mark Behar claimed they made out and passed love notes to each other on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
"[Angelina] and Brad were constantly laughing and flirting with each other and acting like two school kids who had the hots for each other. I caught them several times in each other's trailers making out." Behar also passed notes for them, stating "they were sexual in content."
Despite Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's claims that they were just friends on the set, they've admitted to falling in love during filming, while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
