The two met each other on the set of Flatliners and fell in love. After a brief romance, they planned to get married. However, just days into their relationship, Sutherland was rumored to have cheated on Roberts with a stripper.

And soon enough the date was set, preparations done, and Julia Roberts had a custom wedding dress worth $8,000 made for her special day. while everyone was excited and anticipating to witness the wedding, Roberts suddenly canceled it all just two days before.

Adding one he mentioned how they were very much in love during their brief romance,

"We were both young, and we were both very much in love, we had decided that we wanted to get married, but then this other thing kind of took over. She was arguably the most famous woman in the world, and this wedding that was supposed to be something between the two of us, became something so big."

Letting bygones be bygones, both Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland are in happy relationships with their respective partners.
